1Advantages

Specific modifications is to modify the PP's flammability and thermal limitations. Adding halogen-free or halogenated flame retardants (FR) significantly 

increases resistance to ignition and flame spread, meeting stringent safety standards (UL94 V-0, V-1, V-2, HB). Heat stabilizers (e.g., hindered phenols, phosphites) 

protect the polymer chains during high-temperature processing and extend service life in hot environments by preventing thermal degradation and oxidation. 

These modifications can sometimes affect mechanical properties or processability, requiring careful formulation.


2 Applications

Flame-retardant PP is essential in electrical and electronic components (connectors, circuit breaker housings, switchgear parts, appliance wiring ducts) 

and consumer electronics housings (power supplies, chargers) where fire safety is regulated. Heat-stabilized grades are critical for automotive under-the-hood parts 

exposed to engine heat (fan shrouds, reservoirs), dishwasher components, and industrial hot water applications. 

Used wherever elevated temperatures or fire safety are primary concerns.
